A Dying Breed
Howard Taylor
It's getting cold out here. Fewer and fewer eyes. Fewer and fewer ears. These get replaced with more and more tears. I am disgusted at the acts of desecration committed by vandals and scallywags at Ft. Ord CA after she was decommissioned in 1994. Many soldiers trained there then went to their final destination Vietnam. Ft. Ord generated massive revenues for the surrounding communities in the form of jobs, income tax and retail taxes. The Fort was always kind but to be defaced as I saw it through pictures has my confidence in our youth at a very low. People are forgetting the sacrifices of the past. Oddly, largely without knowing it, many of them are making the same mistakes of the past. Lack of responsibility has been a cornerstone of the breakdown of several societies the Roman Empire being one. The politicization of our justice department has clearly exposed two systems; one for them and one for the rest of us. That along with suspicions about voter integrity and trust in agencies such as the IRS or FBI is The single greatest symbol of the division in our country. The Democrats wield their justice department right out in the open for all to see with no shame, all the while denying they are doing it. Now we find out the DoD has quietly re-authorized the use of deadly force against U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. I am wondering if the Democrats plan on a coop should Trump win.

....a dying breed indeed .....in 1970 i was one of those young teenagers who went thru ft ord and then tigerland then the nam...this gen zer generation will get their baptism of fire soon enough ....and i believe they will fail miserably and our shores will be wide open for our enemies .....and similar to that mighty roman empire the usa will crumble ....unless of course trump and hegsbeth reopen the mighty Ft Ord and start cracking that whip...good luck USA !!!!!!Reply To 14626

I am looking to connect with any Nebraska veterans who were ASA. I would like to set up a reunion (get together) or a meet and greet. I was stationed at Kagnew Station, Asmara, Ethiopia 1968-1969. I worked at Trac C in Doc. Control and Distribution. You can contact me through this site.
I was not ASA, but visited Asmara a few years ago and thought you may enjoy the photos. Very unique place, and nice people. https://www.qsl.net/eritrea/

54th Engineer Battalion Bad Hersfeld, Germany
Bert Kjelstad
I am searching for ANYONE who served with me from 1968 to 1970 in Germany and those who flew the MEDVAC Chopper in WildFlicken Germany when our duce-and-half flipped over and the heavy equipment crushed my head, almost taking my life. I want so badly yo know what happened that day because my paperwork is lost from the army and only some documents were given to me but nothing like witness statements or even doctors. The Army and VA, they don't believe me even though I remember it happened while being in and out of consciousness. If your names are Myton R. Smith (USAF / MC) and flew me in your MedVac helicopter to USAF Hospital in Wiesbaden and/or Frankfurt Hospital in Germany PLEASE get back to me. I don't know if anyone in my unit or that treated me or the helicopter driver remember me or are even alive. If you know me or remember me please I am begging you, get back to me as soon as possible. I need closure so I can move forward. I need to meet or write to you because I also need witness statements about my accident because my VA compensation case has been getting denied since 1970 to present. I'm 76 years old and I just need to know what happened to me.
My name is Bert Kjelstad

My father’s name is Michael Gatt. He served in Vietnam in the 40th battalion signal company D, until he was medically discharged in June 1968. He is looking for anyone with leads on men who may have served with him, as he wasn’t able to collect contacts before he came back to the states.
Thank you and God bless you.

HHB 1st Training Bde Ft Sill Oklahoma, 1967-70.
Bruce Richards
Looking for any of the guys that were in HHB or HHC 1st Training Bde, Ft Sill OK between 1966 nd 1970. It seems that most of us had just returned from Nam. I was a SP5 Mechanic and worked in the motor pool. I shared a room in the barracks with Bob Osman, who was returning from Nam also. He was a Artillery Mechanic.
Several of the guys were into Cars and trying to make up for the year we lost in Nam. We partied down on D Street, and out on Cache Bvd. We made many weekend outings to the surrounding towns. I had a blue and white Ford Thunderbird convertible, then a black 67 Mustang. How I made it out of Ft SILL without going to jail. or loosing a strip is beyond me
Any of you guys out there?
