What does Veterans Day mean to you? On Veterans Day and all year long it is important to give thanks, honor & respect to the many brave men and women who have served our country. We welcome you to add your thoughts and comments about what Veterans Day means to you, about people who serve or have served in the U.S. Military, along with how you and your family honored the Holiday. I haven't forgotten about them and my prayers are with them and their safe return to the Greatest country in the world.I just want to thank all Veterans who have served and those especially who have given the supreme sacrifice during all of America's Wars. I was a Marine Sergeant in Iraq and served as a Corporal in Operation Enduring Freedom with 2/6 in the Middle East, so Veterans Day is very special for me. I am sad when I hear people talk that there is no war in Iraq right now because there isn't that much news coverage and people have forgotten about the troops over there. I just want all the troops to know that I haven't forgotten about them and my prayers are with them and their safe return to the Greatest country in the world.
I feel honored and proud that they fought for our country. My dad and ex spouse, and two brothers are veterans. I feel honored and proud that they fought for our country. GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU

THESE MEN AND WOMEN SHOULD BE REMEMBERED IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER!!We must remember all Veterans, including the Living Veterans and respect them as they were willing to give up their lives for our country to protect the freedoms for us and other countries throughout the world, whether World War I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Civil Wars in various states.
THESE MEN AND WOMEN SHOULD BE REMEMBERED IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER!!
HOWEVER, IT IS SAD TO SAY THAT MOST PEOPLE DO NOT CARE, THEY REFUSE TO HELP THEM WHEN THE VETERAN IS IN NEED, BUT YET IF SOMEONE IS IN NEED ALL VETERANS WILL GO TO THEIR AID - EVEN IF THE VETERAN HAS NOTHING.
PLEASE START PRAYING FOR ALL VETERANS THOSE LIVING THAT WERE WILLING TO GIVE THEIR LIVES FOR THE FREEDOMS THAT WE HAVE AND THOSE WHO DIED SO THAT WE CAN HAVE THOSE FREEDOMS.
WE MUST REMEMBER THE WORDS OF JESUS CHRIST IN MATTHEW THE 10 COMMANDMENTS AND ALSO HIS WORDS "Ask, if ye (truly)believe, ye shall receive!!
Please pray for all Veterans each and every day as many of us are having problems and people are not willing to help us.
I am a Veteran from the Vietnam Era.
"GOD BE WITH YOU EACH AND EVERY DAY OF EACH YEAR!!!" "I TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT I DO AS I AM A CHRISTIAN!!"

A patriotic familyI am so proud of our Veterans..My husband is a World War 2 Veteran.. He has been in a wheelchair for 60 years. Our daughter was in the Navy during the Gulf War. Her training in the Navy has put her in a very good field of work and she loved the Navy and her work..
My husband would go to Iraq today if they would let him or even to a base in the USA and do paperwork, if he could just be in the Military again.

Take a moment to say the most important words a veteran can ever hear---'thank you'.I became a teacher after serving three and a half years in Vietnam. I taught for 27 years. On the day before each Veterans Day I would take the day and explain why Veterans Day was important to me. I told them of the men I served with, the living and the dead. I told them about each of the men who died from their town in that war and how their names were engraved on a memorial on their Town Green, along with those of other wars. I explained that I would go and stand before that memorial because I wanted to be sure that at least one person was there to remember their sacrifice. I invited each student to share the moment with me. I was always amazed at who showed up. For 27 years I was never alone on that day. I asked to call a family member or friend who served this country and take a moment to say the most important words a veteran can ever hear---'thank you'. I moved from that small Connecticut town last year. I hope that I had enough of an impact on those young men and women whom I had the honor to teach over the years to have at least one of them be there in front of that memorial this year.

Brother was buried on Veterans Day. So there is no way I could forget those who served our country.I spent three years in the U.S. Army. Veterans Day means more to me than it probably does to anyone else. When I was in Germany I saw what the war did and the peoples lives it changed, but in November 1997 my brother was killed in an accident 3 days before Veterans Day and was buried on Veterans Day. He was also a Vet. So there is no way I could forget those who served our country.

I salute each and everyone of you for your heroism and bravery.I think of this day, Nov. 11th, as a day to remember all our brave and honorable veterans, those who made the supreme sacrifice. All these men and women deserve to be remembered, not only on that day, but everyday that we as Americans remember those who gave all. To coin a phrase from the past, " SOME GAVE ALL", "ALL GAVE SOME' to keep this country free and to protect our rights as we know them and utilize them each and everyday. My father, 1st lt. Edward Thompson, 1st infrantry, 16th division, company L gave his all on 19 jan, 1945 somewhere in belgium. He is buried at Henri Chappell military cemetary. I have visited the burial site and I must tell all that it is a place of honor for a final resting place of all the heroes there. It was a very sobering experince to walk those hallowed grounds. God bless and keep each and everyone of them in his fold. Being an air force veteran of 36 years, I salute each and everyone of you for your heroism and bravery during the big one. My hat is off to you for your dedication to duty, honor and country. This message is for all vets who served our country in all wars for your sacrifices are appreciated by me and all my vet friends. GOD BLESS YOU ALL and LONG LIVE AMERICA and our MILITARY.

I think of all of the men and women in service and thank them all for their dedication. Freedom isn't free.On Veterans Day, as on all other days, I think of my son, LCDR David L. Williams, who died in the service of our country at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. I think of his mates who died with him and of all of our troops now in harm's way. I think of the heroes of war's past who laid their lives on the line for freedom. I think of all of the men and women in service and thank them all for their dedication. Freedom isn't free.

Say a prayer for America's veteransVeterans Day to me is every day, being a disabled Vietnam Veteran, wounded in an enemy basecamp in 1967.
There isn't a day goes by that I do not remember my buddies who, if not for their ultimate sacrafice, I would not be here now writing this.
I shall never forget them nor all of America's war veterans for without them none of us would be free today. We would have been exterminated as so many innocent men, women and children were in the past wars we fought to keep America free.
We need never forget them and should walk proud for they gave their all for us and most, like myself were just "Kids" when we went into battle to keep our country free.
May God keep those who gave their all during battle and shower those with His dearest blessings who came home but never really never came home as war has scarred their hearts and sould for as long as they shall live.
On this day, please give thanks that those of you who were never baptized by fire do not have to carry the horror of war on your shoulders.
Be proud you are an American and honor the men and women who made you free.
And, pray for our men and women fighting in Iraq, Afganistan and places which we don't even know about.
Please take five minutes as you enjoy the holiday and say a prayer for America's veterans. Be happy and let them continue to live through you.
Thank you and God Bless America!

All the wonderful things that we as Americans have and can do, that we would not have if Veterans had not fought for itVeterans Day is a day of recalling memories, both good and bad of friends who have gone on to the final formation, and events that have been both rewarding and very humbling. Also, it is a chance to remind myself, and others around me, of all the wonderful things that we as Americans have and can do, that we would not have if Veterans had not fought for it.

Importance of the military for protectionVeterans Day still puts visions of parades in my mind even if the city doesn't always have a parade. It also lets us show the older veterans and the new veterans that we appreciate them & the things they do to keep our privileges & rights safe. A lot of people that have never been in the military take our freedoms for granted. Even after 9/11/01, people still believe we could never be conquered. Well, to them I say, if we didn't have the military, other countries could just walk right in & take over!! The terrorists attacked US!! Now we're taking the war to them. They asked for it. So let's show the veterans how much we are behind them. Semper Fi

I proudly served my country in the Marines from 1970 - 1976. My father proudly served his country from 1941-1945, my father-in-law served our country from 1944-1947 and my grandfather proudly served and was wounded three times in the war to end all wars from 1917-1919. And my wife lost an uncle in the Pacific during WWII.
Veterans Day means so much to me and my entire family. We come from a long line of patriotic people and we recognize the sacrifices we all made and the ultimate sacrifices many made with their lives.
We should show our support to past and current men and women serving our country proudly.
So on Veterans Day, raise your flag proudly, salute it and pat a veteran on the back - for a job well done.
I am very thankful for all of the men and women who have fought to give us the freedom we have today.
