Momma told Johnny not to go downtown,
Heard the Marine recruiter was hanging' around.
Johnny went downtown anyways,
Wanted to hear what Recruiter had to say.
Recruiter said, Johnny boy watcha wanna be?,
Johnny said I wanna be in Infantry.
So he caught a flight to Vietnam,
There he fought the Viet Cong.
Many he killed by knife by blade,
But God only knows how many lives he saved.
Johnny was bold and Johnny was brave,
Johnny jumped on a hand grenade.
Saved the lives of the men he led,
But before he died this is what he said:
Momma momma don't you cry,
Marine Corp motto Semper Fi!
[Semper Fi is used for short of Semper Fidelis- Always Faithful.]

I think I may I think I might,
Jump from a airplane while in flight.
Soldier soldier have you heard,
I'm gonna jump from an Iron bird.
Up in the morning in the drizzling rain,
Packed my chute and boarded the plane.
C-130 rolling down the strip,
64 rangers on a one way trip.
Mission top secret,
Destination unknown, don't give a damn if they ever come home.
When that plane gets up so high,
Airborne rangers gonna dance in the sky.
Stand up, hook up shuffle to the door,
Jump right out and count to four.
If my main don't open wide,
I got another parachute by my side.
If that one should fail me to,
Look out leg I'm a coming for you.
If I should die on the old drop zone,
Box me up and send me home.
If I should die on Chinese hill,
Take my watch or the commies will.
Pin those silver wings on me,
So I can die in harmony.

Now girls here's a little tip I'm passing on to you. Just get yourself a good Marine, there's nothing he can't do. And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell, Another Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell! Marine! Marine Marine!
