M.A.,
When I
think of Memorial Day, it brings to my mind a Holiday
to come together with family, loved ones & friends, to
reflect, honor and give thanks to the many heroic men
and women who have sacrificed their lives for our
freedom and great country. Furthermore, it is a day to
give thanks to our active military and Veterans, who
have and currently are protecting our American nation.
Thanks to all our U.S. military personnel, both past
and present. U.S. Veterans, we thank you and appreciate you, and all that you have done.

F. KINNEY,
Memorial Day is a day to remember all members the Military, especially family members that have served in all wars since the civil war until now 2011. I pray daily for family and friends that have given their lives so that our World may be a better place to live.

Doc Conner,
Every Veterans Day and Every Memorial Day and all the rest of the days in the year I die a thousand deaths! My job was to save lives and I am proud to have served with my MARINES but I die a thousand deaths every day when I ask why. Why was allowed to come home and so many brothers didnt! Semper Fi to all those who have served and to all those who will serve in the future. Fair Winds and Following Seas!

Charlie McCarty,
Some people look at Memorial Day as the 1st day of summer when all the pools open and barbecue pits are going strong. When in reality if it was not for the Veteran who sacrificed so much and many gave their lives for our freedom we need to remind these people that the only reason they can go swimming or they can have their barbeques and get together is because of the Veterans and the sacrifices they made. Tell these people to take a couple of minutes out of their day and remember all of our heroes living and dead. Also tell them to make sure that they acknowledge Veterans anytime they cross paths and to thank them for their service to our country.

Al Ullman,
I remember. Memorial Day is the official remembering time for me. Lost comrades, sad events , hostile encounters, the awful cold in winter and heat in summer...I remember Korea and my brother Marines in that far-off place. I will be at the Quantico National Cemetery and/ or the National Museum of the Marine Corps for services and service...I remember.

Nancy McGraw,
Every day is Memorial Day @ my home. I will never forget the sacrifices made so I may enjoy my freedom. I only hope when the buzzer goes off in my life, I have been able to repay those men & women who came before me in some small way. Sincerely, Mike.
